Mount Rushmore was completed under the direction of Gutzon and Lincoln Borglum from 1927–1941. The sculpture's roughly 60-foot-high granite faces depict U.S. presidents George Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Theodore Roosevelt, and Abraham Lincoln. The site also features a museum with interactive exhibits.

Jewel Cave is currently the third largest cave in the world. It has 179 miles of mapped passageways. The cave is located 13 miles west of Custer.
Wind Cave National Park is located 11 miles north of Hot Springs, SD. Established in 1903 by President Theodore Roosevelt, it was the seventh U.S. National Park and the first cave to be designated a national park anywhere in the world. The cave is notable for its displays of the calcite formation known as boxwork. The cave is the 6th longest in the world with 140.7 miles of explored passageway.
The mountain is the 27th highest mountain in South Dakota and is 6,532 feet. The memorial was started in 1948, by Korczazk Ziolkowski. When the memorial is completed, it will be the largest sculpture in the world, at a height of 563 feet and a length of 641 feet. The artwork depicts the Lakota warrior, Crazy Horse. He is seated on his horse with his arm outstretched over the horses head indicating “my lands are where my dead lie buried.”
